Abstract

In the article, some pop music performance issues are considered, particularly the main achievements
of the departments «Pop vocal» and «Instruments of a pop orchestra». In studying this direction, essential
components of the presented specialities were identified in the context of performing competencies.
It compares the main goals and objectives of performing tendencies in the «Vocalist» speciality and
«Variety Orchestra Artist», including the definition of strategic priorities for the formation and
development of national culture and art in the field of training highly qualified specialists in the field of pop
art. The author summarizes information about the process of teaching students and researches acquiring
general and specialized competencies, including studying the situation and processes in the field of
contemporary art; analysing phenomena and processes, assessment of works of musical art, the study of
historical patterns and the development of artistic traditions of cultural heritage. Studying at this university
will allow one to master professional skills in studying the history and theory of musical art and culture,
expand the boundaries of the culture of thinking and organize the work scientifically. There is also an
opportunity to get professional theoretical and practical knowledge and skills.
